We looked into the structure and parts of a simple remote control. This one is very interesting, because it is assembled without any screws.
Also we were able to identify different usage scenarios from the intensity different buttons were pressed.
The disassembled parts were rebuild in Solidworks and rendered with Keyshot.
In times of virtual reality there is a high demand for new interface types. This project was based on Jonas Forsslund’s Woodenhaptics. I redesigned another version of it which was determined for haptic supported 3D modelling on the computers.
Three high end motors drive all axes over a cable drive.
An external unit supplys the power, houses the motor drivers and the processing unit. Its passive cooled by the aluminium extrusion in the back.
